Hello,

I am doing the 101 courses and yesterday I finished Lesson 2. Up until that point everything was fine (no issues with the SDL2 framework), I could play and see the progress of the work done so far.

When I finished Lesson 2 and I created the SoundBank by clicking "Generate all", I wanted to run Cube to test it but the game would not open up.

I constantly get the message you see in the title description and cannot open the game.

I uninstalled and reinstalled Wwise/Cube and the SDL2.framework just in case, plus searched for some solution in the internet but nothing seems to appear related to this issue.

Thanks in advance if you can give me some advice, I was enjoying so much doing the course but now I cannot progress (plus the reinstalling made me lose everything)

Same here. Cannot find a workaround for this problem...
Hey Everyone,

Now I'm seeing that the temp fix is only working on some versions of the Mac OS. Very frustrating:(
I do know the awesome folks at AK are working on it though:)
Has anyone figured out what to do? I was literally just trying to begin the course for the certification today but it won't let me run Cube at all?

Hello,

The Mac OS security has changed so you don't have the ability to "Run-Anyway". Here is a fix we found.

Open security preferences, drag and drop the Wwise Launcher from the applications folder to the "Development Tools" section in security.

Cheers!

Hi Dave,

Thanks for you reply.

I did check the Security and Privacy settings in System Preference but I couldn't find the Development Tools section. I checked as well the Library and various folders looking for Development or Security keywords but nothing really came up.

Do you mind explaining more clearly the pathway to follow?

Many thanks :)

I am having the exact same issue, only I cannot even open Cube from the very beginning to progress through the 101 courses at all. Would really appreciate any/all help on this.

Ditto. I did all the things that you did!  I got further along - I had finished all of the 101 courses and had just started the 201 courses.  It's completely bricked my progress.

@Vincent @Sean

I did some further research and nothing much came up. Like Dave says, I believe this is done because of some change Apple made.

I updated to the latest 11.6 Big Sur software just in case, better to be on the latest version and wait for fixes to arrive.

Luckily with the 101 certification I can still do the course and go ahead. It's just annoying not seeing you work implemented in the game ;(

We are aware of this issue and are working towards a resolution.
The Cube executables were flagged as unsafe because the certificates used to sign them have been revoked. These executables did not contain malware or damaging code.

The only workaround for the moment is to build the Cube game locally using Xcode. The Xcode project is available under Cube/cube_source/src/Mac/CubeMac.xcodeproj.

Thank you! So annoying the files were flagged :/

Take your time to fix it!
wait no don't take your time Sam, lol, we need you
I was unable to build the game in Xcode, it keeps coming up with errors and now I have no clue what to do...
Sorry you couldn't recompile it on your own...
We should have a new release out shortly (today/tomorrow)... look for Wwise 2021.1.4 release notification in your Wwise Launcher!

This problem has been fixed as of 2021-09-29. Please update to Wwise 2021.1.4 (you should see a notification in your Wwise Launcher) and install the of Cube it contains.

As Sam mentioned, the Cube executables were flagged as unsafe because the certificates used to sign them had been revoked. Note these executables did not contain malware or damaging code.

Audiokinetic has renewed their certificates and the Cube executable is now properly signed.

Great news!

Thank you so much
Terrific!  I just updated my Wwise launcher and the version of Wwise I'm using, and Cube launched like a boss.  Thanks, folks!
Thank you so much! Just re-installed everything and it's all working great! :)
Happy to hear everything is back to normal, and sorry again for the inconvenience!
