I make mods for Sid Meier's Civilization VI (Steam Workshop Link).
I am interested in audio modding and have discovered that audio mods for this game are required to have been created by Wwise 2015.1.9 (CivFanactics forum link, where this is described).
I haven't been able to find this version available anywhere. I initially used Audiokinetic's contact form with my email to ask. There was no response. I submitted a non-commercial project to Audiokinetic, in which I specified that I needed the 2015.1.9 version of Wwise. My project was approved the next business day and I was granted a license with email confirmation
However, they just provided me with a license key to use on the same installer software, not any type of independent install.
I checked the documentation for the Wwise Installer, and it confirms in a note that versions before 2016.1 are unavailable for install. It will only recognize previously existing offline installations. (Link here, bottom of the page)
Is audio modding for Sid Meier's Civilization VI near impossible now? Can the developer Firaxis even release some type of seperate tool to make audio mods for their game if Wwise is required in the first place?
This seems to be company policy. I can understand only wanting people using more recent versions of your software, and they do let you go back to 2016 for now. What options do the players and modders of this game have?
Thanks so much for any help.
