Why have visual representations of fades been replaced by text in Wwise 2017?

I'm working on two projects right now. One in 2016.2.4 and one in 2017.1.1 and I've noticed that in Wwise 2017's new structure, fade selections in the event setup are now text-based rather than visual. Personally, I find this counter-constructive. The visual reference style matches traditional DAW fades and feels natural.

Was there a reason for this choice? Would it be possible to set this in the preferences perhaps?
