Hi,

I'm looking for a solution to play back clips/regions of different length at the same time.

The setup is as follows: one 8-bar clip of strings and four 4-bar clips of solo trumpet. I want the strings to loop continuously and have the solo trumpet clips play in random order over it, but synced to start every four bars.

This is relatively easy to setup manually, by making a random step track and make a sub-track  for every one the 12 possible solo trumpet part combinations. That would not be practical however on a larger project, like the ones I have in mind with many clips of 32, 16, 8, 4, 2 lengths, in just one music segment. The point of course is to make ever-changing scores that seldom plays back exactly the same way twice.

So do anyone know of a solution to to this. How to do it in my first example is what I need, then I can expand on the idea from there.

As I see it it would be solved either with the possibility of playing back multiple segments at the same time or use cues to loop tracks at different intervals within a segment. I haven't found a way to do this so far.

Thanks for looking,

Frank

Hi Frank

I'm currently looking to achieve exactly you are trying to. Did you ever find a solution?
Currently I'm experimenting with a mix of stingers, event cues and midi triggers, but haven't found the perfect solution yet
