Can I implement the Unity 2017.1 fix before integrating Wwise in a new project?

I saw the fix & infos mentioned here and here (thanks!), but I haven't setup my project yet and was wondering if there was a way to fix this before integrating the project? If not, should I just use the second option here and then apply the fix? Also, are there any downsides to integrating in this way?

I'm getting this error too and the second option did not work :/ have you been able to find a solution yet?
