I am working with some VO.  I have an Actor/Mixer (VO) with several switch containers inside of it (Character names) and then a random container inside the switch container for the characters vo lines.  There are multiple switch containers each with its own random container and set of vo lines.  I have been working with this for several days, read the manual, watched the videos.  I have the Advanced settings set to Limit sound instances is set to 1 on a global scale.  When limit is reached I have Kill voice and Discard newest selected.  Virtual Voice is set to Kill voice.  I have also set every switch container and random container with the same settings in an effort to make only 1 instance happen, but I still get overlapping VO lines.  These are short 'one liners' so to speak and the VO is called often.  I want only 1 VO file playing at one time.  What am I missing?

Thanks,

Darren

When you say "Multiple Switch Containers each with its own random container and set of vo lines" I'm wondering whether this could be your problem. Start by pinpointing where the duplicate lines are coming from. These are independent switch containers? Do they contain duplicates of the same dialog? I would start by deactivating all but one Switch container so you can pinpoint the source. If you have duplicate versions of audio files in various switch containers this could be your problem, because Wwise considers separate versions of the same audio files (ie: RandomContainerA/LoudBang.wav vs. SequenceContainerC/LoudBang.wav) as separate events that won't be limited as if they are a single globally controllable sound. This is so that a single audio file could, with a little manipulation, be used in a number of different ways and for various independent purposes.

Could you maybe upload a screenshot of your hierarchy?
