Do we need a WwiseSettings.xml file with our Unity project?

At my previous employer where we also used Wwise I don't ever recall having a WwiseSettings.xml in the Unity projects. Maybe this is new to the 2015 generation of Wwise? Is it needed?

WwiseSettings.xml is created once the installation is complete. The integration checks for this file's existence to verify if the installation was completed, so yes, the file is needed. It was introduced in the 2013.2.8 integration for Unity.
