Wwise crashing unity - IsFormatSampleRateAndChannelCountValid(format)

I recently updated wwise (to 2023.1.6.8555), unity (to 2022.3.42f1) and my mac os (to 14.6.1) and now unity is crashing every time i try to open my project file. i'm posting here because the main dev pointed out something in the error log that is related to wwise. any thoughts?
