Waiting on init bank rebuild?

I am trying to rebuild the init bank, and wait until it is done. Passing rebuildInitBank to the generate function doesn't trigger a corresponding generateDone. Additionally, I tried passing the init bank into the generate function as a soundbank to be regenerated but got errors. Is there a way to regenerate the init bank by itself and wait on it to be completed?
