Unable to change bar length when changing tempo

In the tutorial video at 02:06 [https://youtu.be/2pm5viFVxBI?t=125], the instructor changes the bar length of the tracks in the music segment. When I do the same, the bars remain where they are. Unable to create loops because music isn't syncing. Please help.
