Today I was trying to get back into Wwise after i hadn't used it for a few months. I launched what I had and it launched fine. Then I was prompted to download the latest version and now after many uninstalling and reinstalling attempts I just get the error, 'Unable to launch Electron app at /Applications/Wwise Launcher.app/Contents/Resources/app.asar/node_modules/@launcher/launcher Error: Failed to get 'documents' path at Object.<anonymous> (/Applications/Wwise Launcher.app/Contents/Resources/app.asar/node_modules/@launcher/core-main/dist/utils/paths.js:16:43)...'

It goes on from there. Further I no longer see an AudioKinetic folder in my Apps. I see Wwise. Same thing under Application Support.

Is there anyway to get a completely fresh Wwise download as if I never installed it before?

Thank You,

Eric

Hi! I have the same problem. Windows 11 Pro with last updates can't open WWISE Launcher!

Hello Stepan! If you get the same error message as the original author of the question, please make sure your Documents folder is in the default location. Otherwise, please provide more info on the issue you are facing!

Hello Eric,

Sorry to hear this is not working for you! The error you've posted indicates an OS configuration and/or compatibility issue, so unfortunately I don't think re-installing Wwise from clean state would solve it.

The issue seems to stem from the Audiokinetic Launcher not being able to locate your Documents folder. Have you by any chance updated/changed configuration related to that folder prior to the issue's first occurance?

Please let us know if this helps resolve your issue. If the issue persists, I'll be happy to further investigate it with you!

Oleksandr

Hello. I had this same problem in MacOs Meterey and the error was generated because I had changed the configuration of the documents folder by removing it from ICloud Drive which had converted the folder as a hidden directory in the path MacOS/User/"YourProfile". What I did was show the hidden files and remove the shortcut to documents which automatically created the documents directory again. This solved the problem. In fact, several problems that also occurred in other software due to the same thing were solved.
