Hi all,

I am currently going through Lesson 1 of Wwise and I have managed to add the sound of the IceGem_Blast onto the system. However, I am stuck on the section about adding an event to the SoundBank Manager. Within the guide, it states I need to go through the following process: new > type 'Main' in the Name field > Click the disclosure triangle to the left of Default Work Unit.

Annoyingly, I don't have the 'New' button within my SoundBank Manager, I only have 'Show Hierarchy' and a drop-down menu for display options such as 'Show Events' and 'Show Audio Busses'. I have deleted and re-installed Wwise and followed every step of the guide but still getting the same issue.

Would anyone be able to give me any advice on what I may be doing wrong or is there an alternative method for a Mac user?

System settings:

macOS: Catalina (version 10.15.7)

Wwise version: 2022.1.0.8070

(Cube and Wwise are running the same version)

Hello Harrison,

Nice to hear you're starting to learn Wwise!

You are using a newer version than specified in the certification.

You won't be able to open your current changes with an older version of Wwise, so you might have to redownload the Wwise-101 files once more.

If you still want to use a newer version of Wwise, keep this in mind...

Good luck with the course.

Ah! I can't believe I overlooked that, thank you so much!
I'd suggest updating your screenshots on the lesson to match that of the new version of Wwise. I cannot learn if the details don't match up.
