Hello Community!

My first time posting here.

I have tried to find a solution for my problem, but haven't succeeded so I decided to ask here. I think my question is pretty simple.

I'm working on a game where there a multiple zones, and every zone has one music track (one music playlist for each zone), and I've set the music segment to be looping (Infitine). So when entering zone A, music track A starts and loops until leaving the zone. When entering Zone B, music track B starts and loops until leaving the zone, etc.

In-game, I'd like to add a Loop Music ON/OFF switch for the player to have the option for the music only to be played once when they enter into a zone. I'd like to know how to set this up in Wwise and what kind of Event I need to link to Unity. I guess the in-game Loop Music ON/OFF switch could either toggle between Looping ON/OFF or Looping Infinite/0 (zero). Whatever works.

I hope my question was clear enough. Would be very thankful for help.

Best regards,

Robert

Hello,
I will think about your problem, but I think that the Loop button is not modifiable in Wwise Authoring, but maybe via the code with StopLooping()

I would approach this by using a music switch container with 2 switch states - Looping On and Looping off. You could easily set these switches based on the player choice. Then if they select Looping On you set the music switch to run the music segment with infinite looping, and if they select Looping Off you set the switch to run an identical version of the music segment that has looping turned off. If you check "Continue to play on Switch Change" in the music switch, the player can change their mind any time they like and it won't affect the music currently playing.
