I know this came up previously, and the response has been that a new Wwise integration plug-in will be available with the release of Unreal Engine 5.0. Epic did officially release 5.0 this week, and I'm wondering if Audiokinetic can provide any details on when we can expect a Wwise update that works with both UE5.0 and Chaos physics. Thank you!

Hi,

Usually we release minor versions of Wwise every month,

Wwise 2021.1.7 was released at the beginning of last month,

due to the release of the official version of UE5,

we decided to postpone the release of Wwise 2021.1.8 for two weeks to be compatible with it.

Please be patient for the release of Wwise 2021.1.8 at the end of this month!

Thank you. Will this include a working code path for Chaos physics enabled engines? The Chaos code path in AkAudio has never compiled/worked in the Preview  and Early Access releases of UE5.
I guess it depends on when Epic removes Chaos from the experimental features category, as you can notice in the Release Notes for our Unreal Engine integration, we won't be supporting experimental features
PhysX is going to be deprecated in favor of Chaos in the not too distant future, so a lot of studios already switched to Chaos (we work with several dozen of them). Those who use Wwise are currently blocked.

I was told in a separate support thread (via one of our clients) that the Chaos code path for UE5 Wwise is being worked on. Is this no longer the case?
Doesn't work for me. I get this error when generating sound data.
