Hi there,

I'm curious to see if there's anyone else out there who has used or is trying to use the RealSpace3D HRTF plugin for Wwise & UE4?

I have been trying to get this plugin to actually work properly for several months now, and have been back and forth with the developer many, many times, but he has proven to be very unhelpful in terms of actually looking in to the issues we are having. The actual plugin sounds great when it's working, but as soon as I try and remotely connect Wwise to UE4 and play the level, I get an error and the whole engine crashes. Obviously a big issue, as being able to remotely connect is a hugely important part of the workflow.

Any people out there who've had any experience with this before? I'm pretty to giving up completely now, but figured I'd give it one last push.

For reference, I'm using Wwise 2016.1.3 and UE4.13.2 along with the latest RS3D plugin files from their website/the developer.

Thanks!

Hey Andrew!

My team is also using Realspace 3D. I am also experiencing this bug, a suggestion that I got straight from them was this:

"Maybe changing the permissions of the soundbank in either the wwise subfolder or the one generated by UE4 will help but at the moment, the bug is unresolved."

They are currently working on it atm from what I can tell. I"m about to try this fix, so I don't know if it works. Maybe it will work for you!

Hey Rob,

Thanks for your message. Sorry to hear you've been having the same issues, though I'm glad that it's not just me!

I'd looked in to the permissions thing about 6-7 weeks ago now, as that was one of the first issues I started getting... the plugin wasn't playing nicely with our version control system. I have discovered which files need to be writable in order for it to behave properly, but have ended up doing all my testing/troubleshooting outside of our version controlled environment where it wouldn't/shouldn't be an issue.

Are you using UE4 as well? I have actually made some progress in the last few days and seem to have discovered where at least some of the issues were lying. I can now remotely connect without crashing, and seem to have found a sequence of generating the soundbanks so that I don't get the other errors e.g. License key not found, BACCH data not found, etc...

Happy to share a bit more if it might be helpful.
Yeah We are using UE4 as well. What did you do to get it fixed? I tried just making all of the folders writable in the plugin, wem files etc. Still didn't work.
