Strata_Copy selection to next project is a REAPER script package that makes it easy to copy items and tracks from one REAPER project to another. The package is available in the Audiokinetic Reaper Tools Repository and can be installed using the ReaPack package manager.
You can use the ReaPack package manager in REAPER to install Strata_Copy selection to next project. If you have already installed ReaPack and Audiokinetic’s Reaper Tools repository, you can proceed to step 4.
Go to ReaPack: Package manager for REAPER to download ReaPack. Refer to the ReaPack User Guide for installation instructions.
After ReaPack is installed, from the REAPER menu bar, click Extensions > ReaPack > Import Repositories.
In the dialog that opens, enter the URL of Audiokinetic's Reaper Tools repository (https://github.com/Audiokinetic/Reaper-Tools/raw/main/index.xml) and click OK.
From the REAPER menu bar, click Extensions > ReaPack > Browse packages.
In the dialog that opens, right-click Strata_Copy selection to next project.lua and select the version you want to install.
In the lower-right corner of the dialog, click Apply.
The Strata_Copy selection to next project package is downloaded and moved
to $/REAPER/Scripts/Audiokinetic/Scripts
.
To confirm the installation was successful, in the REAPER menu bar, select Actions > Show actions list and filter for "Strata". The script appears in the Actions list.
Make sure the Destination project is the next tab to the right of your Source project.
In the Destination project, place the cursor at the point on the timeline where you would like to insert the copied content.
In the Source project, make a timeline selection of the data to be copied. Select specific tracks or all tracks depending which tracks you want to copy. Only tracks with items within the timeline selection, and their parent tracks, will be copied when you run the action.
From the REAPER menu bar, select Actions > Show actions list.
In the Actions list, filter for "Strata", select Strata_Copy selection to next project.lua, and click Run.

To assign a shortcut to the script, click on the script in the Actions list. Then in the Shortcuts for selected action pane in the lower-left corner of the window, click Add. The Keyboard/MIDI/OSC Input dialog appears. You can assign any shortcut to trigger the script. |

New Features
Items within the selected timeline area of the source project are copied to the current cursor position of the destination project.
After running the script, the destination project becomes the active project.
All tracks can be selected in the source project, but only tracks that are relevant to the items within the selected area of the timeline are copied to the destination project.

Error messages appear if there is no timeline selection or tracks are not selected.
