Wwise Unreal Integration Documentation
Release Notes 2022.1.3.8179.2621

Each version of this integration matches a specific build of Unreal Engine. Here is what has changed in the 2022.1.3.8179.2621 release of the integration (in addition to upgrading to the new Unreal build).

Note:
This integration does not support experimental Unreal Engine features.
Note:
This integration was compiled against Unreal Engine version 4.27, 5.0, and 5.1. It was tested against Unreal Engine 5.1. Any major Unreal Engine version more recent than the aforementioned is not currently supported, but will be in a subsequent patch release.

New Features

  • WG-63815 Added compilation support for early branch of UE5.2.

Bug Fixes

  • WG-63526 Fixed: Crash at exit when requesting Audio Link on Unreal 4.27.
  • WG-63964 Fixed: Playing streamed media while another streamed media is already playing sometimes cause the second one to fail.
  • WG-64013 Fixed: Disabled surfaces are used to compute the HF Damping value.
  • WG-64104 Fixed: Reverb Estimation service RTPC values are sent to Wwise Authoring when RTPCs are not in use in the Unreal Project Settings.
  • WG-64137 Fixed: Switch Container Plug-in Media is not detected as optionally loaded.
  • WG-64138 Fixed: Crash when initializing Input Submix without Audio Link or AudioMixer.
  • WG-64374 Fixed: Erroneous Global Callback registration logs at exit (seen with LogWwiseConcurrency at Verbose).
  • WG-64678 Fixed: Starting a Wwise module while shutting down Unreal doesn't output warnings in the log.

Fixes for Community-Reported Bugs

  • WG-63368 Fixed: Unreal 5.1 crash after editing the Geometry Transmission Loss Value of a Spatial Audio Volume.
  • WG-63510 Fixed: GetTypeHash compilation issues with UE5.2.
  • WG-64257 Fixed: Deleted streamed file with prefetch fails assert on open.
  • WG-64317 Fixed: WwiseExecutionQueue deinitialization can hang on application exit.
  • WG-64523 Fixed: Intermittent crashes in FWwiseExecutionQueue::ProcessWork.
