Modulator Time

The table below lists the properties of the time modulator. For more information on working with time, refer to Working with Time.

Interface Element

Description

Name

The name of the modulator ShareSet.

Shared by

A list of objects that currently subscribe to the selected ShareSet.

Opens a search field where standard alphanumeric entries filter out unmatching elements from the view. Learn more in Using Tables.

Click the Close icon to the left of the search icon to close the search field and remove the filter.

[Note]Note

The searches do not include elements in collapsed nodes of the List View, Query Editor, MIDI Keymap Editor, and Reference View.

Notes

Additional information about the ShareSet or the modulator settings that have been applied.

Interface Element

Description

Initial Delay

A period of time to wait before the time-based modulation starts.

[Note]Note

During this delay the property value will be maintained at its value at time 0, as determined by the RTPC graph.

Default value: 0

Range: 0 to 4

Units: s

Duration

The length of one iteration of the time-based modulation at normal playback rate.

[Note]Note

The actual overall time will be affected by Initial Delay, Playback Rate and Loop Count.

Default value: 1

Range: 0.1 to 100

Units: s

Loop Count

The number of times the modulation will be played. (Entering 0 means “infinite”.)

Default value: 1

Range: 0 to 100

Playback Rate

Adjusts the rate at which the associated sound is played:

  • A value of 1 results in a normal playback

  • A value less than 1 results in a slower playback

  • A value greater than 1 results in a faster playback

Default value: 1

Range: 0.25 to 4

Scope

Defines how time modulator instances are created:

  • Voice: A time modulator instance is created for every sound/object playback.

  • Note/Event: A time modulator instance is created for every playing instance or, when used in MIDI context, note.

Default value: Note or Event

Trigger On

The Actions/MIDI Events that may trigger the time modulator:

  • Play: Either a Play Action or a MIDI note Event

  • Note-Off: Only a MIDI Note-Off Event

Default value: Play

Stop playback at end

If set, the playback of the associated sound is terminated once the total time, taking into account initial delay, loop count, and playback rate, has been reached. If not set, the value of the modulated property after the total time has elapsed will be maintained at its final value as determined by the RTPC graph.

Default value: true
