Schematic View

The Schematic view displays the hierarchy of the bus, motion, music, and sound objects in your project as a graphical representation. By default, the Schematic view displays the hierarchy and the different routing connections for your entire project, but you can use the Search field to filter the view and display the hierarchy for one object.

[Note] Note

In contrast to the Voices Graph, which displays only mixing busses, the Schematic view displays both mixing and control busses. Refer to Mixing Versus Non-Mixing Busses for more information on the distinction between the two types of busses.

[Tip] Tip

By default in Wwise, you can switch to the Schematic layout by pressing F9.

The following list shows the different types of connectors between nodes.

Connector Type

Description

Defines a hierarchical relation between two nodes. The node to the left is the parent of the node to the right (child).

Defines a routing relation between two nodes. The node to the left is an Audio Bus and the node to the right is an audio object.

Defines a routing relation between two nodes where the node to the right overrides the parent's routing. The node to the left is a bus. The node to the right is an audio object.

Defines an auxiliary send routing relation between two nodes where the node to the right (audio object) sends its audio to the Auxiliary Bus on the left.

The following list shows the different interface elements in the Schematic View.

Interface Element

Description

Search

Filters the objects that appear in the Schematic view.

Type an object name or part of an object name in this text box to display the hierarchy for that object only.

Clears the contents of the Search field.

When the Search field is cleared, the entire project hierarchy is displayed again in the Schematic view.

(Icon strip)

(Bus)

Displays the bus through which the object is routed.

(Bus)

Displays the list of user defined auxiliary sends for this object.

(Effect)

Displays the name of the Conversion Settings ShareSet that is being used by the object.

(Effect)

Displays any effects that have been applied to the object.

(Positioning Type)

Displays the type of positioning (2D, 3D user-defined, 3D game-defined) applied to the object.

(Game Parameters)

Displays the Game Parameters affecting the object (through RTPCs).

(State Group)

Displays the State Group to which the object belongs.
