Control Surface Bindings View and Control Surface Sessions

The Control Surface Bindings view allows you to define how Control Surface devices behave in Wwise. Control Surface devices can be used to control Wwise functions or project properties. Refer to Chapter 47, Using a Control Surface for more information.

The Control Surface Bindings view shows the current Control Surface Session loaded.

Interface Element

Description

A list of Control Surface Sessions that currently exist within the project.

The name of the selected Control Surface Session is displayed in the corresponding field.

Selecting a Control Surface Session loads its Bindings in Wwise.

Opens a search field where standard alphanumeric entries filter out unmatching elements from the view. Learn more in Using Tables.

Click the Close icon to the left of the search icon to close the search field and remove the filter.

[Note] Note

The searches do not include elements in collapsed nodes of the List View, Query Editor, MIDI Keymap Editor, and Reference View.

Click the Configure Columns... shortcut (right-click) option from the column header band.

The Configure Columns Dialog opens. Specify which columns to display and their order.

Groups

Global

The Global group defines the Bindings that are associated with specific objects.

The targeted object is specified directly in the Binding.

For more information, refer to:

Current Selection

The Current Selection group defines the Bindings that are associated with the current selection.

The targeted object of Bindings in this group is the current selected object in Wwise.

For more information, refer to Creating a Binding to Modify the Current Selection.

View Groups

The View Groups root defines the list of View Groups that can be loaded in views to dynamically associate objects of a view with Bindings.

The target object, of a View Group Binding, is defined by the view in which the binding group is loaded. An index is specified for each object loaded in the view.

View Groups can be created using the Add Group button.

For more information about View Groups, refer to Understanding Control Surface View Groups.

Examples of possible status:

  • Controller assignment conflict

  • Incomplete binding

For more information about conflicts, refer to Handling Conflicts in Control Surface Sessions.
