Dynamic Mixing with Wwise

Every game, no matter how complex, needs to be thoroughly packaged and finalized before it is delivered to users. This preparation process often involves carefully auditing and finalizing your Wwise project and the audio mix. Why is mixing important? Most games feature multiple sounds, and in some situations, several of these sounds can play simultaneously. Dynamic mixing helps balance the various sounds, ensuring no sound overwhelms the others. Wwise provides powerful tools for dynamic mixing, and in this session, you will learn how to set up dynamic systems using Wwise and apply them to any gameplay scenario.

Preliminary agenda:

  • Overview of Wwise Voice Pipeline
  • Using meters and measuring loudness
  • State-based mixing, such as using the Mixing Desk. 
  • Signal/Volume-Based, such as Auto-Ducking, Side-Chain and HDR.
  • Game Parameter-Based Mixing
  • Mastering

Who should join this workshop? 

This session is designed for experienced Wwise users willing to enhance their mixing skills and/or better understand a sound's signal chain.

Prerequisites

  • Strong working knowledge of Wwise Fundamentals or experience using Wwise. 
  • Basic knowledge of audio levels, and effects.
  • Basic knowledge of remote connecting to a game and bus structures. 

As this workshop includes auditioning a soundscape, it's highly recommended to bring a pair of quality headphones.

Upon completion, you will receive a training completion certificate.
