Strata Help

The Ambience Urban collection consists of a comprehensive range of urban ambiences. The subprojects are subdivided into Interior and Exterior, and Additional. The Underground subproject is an exception because its sounds can be in both categories.

Like all Strata Ambience collections, some subprojects are arranged to mix ambisonically using the IEM plug-ins in third order and to render to a range of multichannel options derived from the third-order mix. In the case of Ambience Urban, the Interior and Exterior, and Underground, all projects are ambisonic mix projects. Their intended function is to provide the base layers of Ambience with the Additional subprojects providing elements for increased variation of the sound of an Ambience played along with the base layers.

To keep the downloads to an efficient size, a Stereo render is included in the collection download, and can be auditioned in the Urban Ambiences project.

The subprojects are arranged to enable auditioning, depending on your monitor systems, and rendering in a full range of formats. By default, they are configured to monitor in Stereo. The Additionals subprojects are like conventional Stereo projects and are configured to monitor and render in Stereo and or Mono. The collection is designed so that the Interior and Exterior projects combine to provide the base layer of an ambience with sounds from the Additional subprojects used simultaneously as required for specific augmentation.

The subprojects have Parameter Control tracks that affect multiple tracks and the plug-ins to enable customization of the ambiences, with a range of intuitive names to describe their effects on the mix.
