This release delivers the Wwise SDK update for Wwise 2024.1.0.

• Unity: The integration was tested with Unity 2022.3.40f1. The minimum supported version is 2022.3 and the maximum supported version is 6.0.

New Features

• WG-55823 Added support for auto-defined SoundBanks.

API Changes

• WG-71970 Memory management configuration settings now control the new AkMemoryArenas added to the Wwise SDK. MemoryAllocationSizeLimit and MemorySpanCount were removed from AkCommonAdvancedSettings, and new settings control the Primary and Media memory arenas instead. There are separate memory reservation limits for each arena, as well as controls for how the Memory Arenas allocate and reserve memory.

Behavior Changes

• WG-73675 With the addition of support for Auto-banks in Unity, DecodedBanks are now deprecated.

Bug Fixes

• WG-73268 Fixed: Footsteps sound the same on all surfaces in the Wwise Demo Scene.
• WG-74648 Fixed: Custom inspector not displayed for classes inheriting from AK components, such as AkEvent or AkAmbient.

Fixes for Community-Reported Bugs

• WG-50241 Fixed: Lag when moving a game object that has an AkGameObj component.
• WG-60014 Fixed: (WAAPI) Errors when subscribing to topics without options.
• WG-69057 Fixed: Names too similar. Renamed Unity's AkSoundEngine to AkUnitySoundEngine to avoid confusion.
