Control Surface Sessions define how the hardware controls are attached to Wwise functions or project properties. A Control Surface Session defines a list of bindings. Each binding attaches a hardware control (such as a button, slider, knob, or key) to a Wwise element (property or command).
Multiple Control Surface Sessions can be created in a single Wwise Project for different reasons:
Different users of the Wwise projects using different hardware devices.
Different usage scenarios.
Different users with different needs or preferences.
You can create Control Surface Sessions from the Control Surface Bindings view or the Project Explorer.
To create a Control Surface Session from the Control Surface Bindings view:
From the View menu, click Utilities > Control Surface Bindings. The Control Surface Bindings view opens.
Click the selector button [>>] to open the selector menu.
Click New.
Enter a name for the session.
Click OK.
The session is created and loaded.
To create a Control Surface Session from the Project Explorer:
In the Project Explorer, open the Sessions tab.
In the Control Surface Sessions folder, select the desired work unit.
In the Project Explorer toolbar, click Create new 'Control Surface Session' (
).A new Control Surface Session object appears under the work unit.
Type a name for the new session and press Enter.
The session is created and available for editing. You can open it by double-clicking it in the Project Explorer to open it in an Object Tab.
