Converting audio files

After you have imported your media files into Wwise, you are ready to convert them for your various platforms. Since many media files are likely to use the same Conversion Settings, you can create a series of conversion setting ShareSets and then assign these ShareSets to the various objects in your project. Like other properties in the project hierarchy, conversion setting ShareSets are inherited from parent to child. Of course, you can override these settings at any level in the hierarchy, which allows you to apply different Conversion Settings ShareSets to specific objects in the hierarchy.

While you do not need to convert your media files to define properties and behaviors, it is a good idea to assign a conversion setting ShareSet to each object before you generate your SoundBanks to take advantage of the customized settings. If you don't assign a ShareSet to an object, Wwise will use the default Conversion Settings ShareSet. For more information on setting the default Conversion Settings ShareSet, refer to Specifying the default conversion settings.
