Each version of this integration matches a specific build of Unreal Engine 4. Here is what has changed in the 2021.1.6.7774.2201 release of the integration (in addition to upgrading to the new Unreal build). Important Migration Notes 2021.1.6.7774.2201

This integration does not support experimental Unreal Engine 4 features.

This integration compiles against Unreal Engine versions 4.23 and up, but was only tested against Unreal Engine 4.26.

New Features

  • WG-55555 Added two new arguments to the GenerateSoundBanks commandlet: autosubmit for automatically submitting generated assets to source control, and clnum for specifying a commit number.
  • WG-57694 Improved compatibility for the Unreal Engine Release_5.0 branch. Integration was tested against changelist #18425151.
  • WG-58002 Added the SetGeometryComponent function to AkRoomComponent. You can use it to choose which AkGeometryComponent to use to send the room's geometry to Wwise.

Miscellaneous Changes

  • WG-54479 Updated the AkAcousticPortal Component so that calls to OpenPortal and ClosePortal no longer stack.

Bug Fixes

  • WG-51015 Fixed: Marker labels and music cue names are not properly copied in Event callbacks.
  • WG-54245 Fixed: Non-ASCII characters are not sent properly in WAAPI messages.
  • WG-55387 Fixed: Crash in Sequencer when opening a level sequence before the Unreal Asset Registry has finished discovering assets.
  • WG-57433 Fixed: Unreal Demo Game fails to package for Xbox One platform with XDK on Unreal 4.27.1 due to missing configuration fields.

Fixes for Community-Reported Bugs

  • WG-53110 Fixed: Events played from the context menu in the Content Browser are silent after leaving Play In Editor (PIE) mode.
  • WG-54864 Fixed: Media in nested Music Switch Containers mapped to the generic path are not loaded.
  • WG-56245 Fixed: Tracking of LinkedAkEvents in AkAudioBanks erroneously marks bank assets as dirty.
  • WG-57271 Fixed: AkBankManager prevents SoundBanks from being unloaded in legacy mode.
  • WG-57276 Fixed: In AkAudioMixer, the FAkMixerPlatform::GetPlatformSettings() function does not return custom platform settings specified in FPlatformProperties.
  • WG-57789 Fixed: Crash and memory leak when using Blueprint callbacks.
  • WG-57791 Fixed: Typo in Boolean logical operator in AkLateReverbComponent.
  • WG-57812 Fixed: Crash when using PostAndWaitEndOfEvent in a Blueprint node.
  • WG-57933 Fixed: Crash or hang when connecting Authoring to a game session while using the Unreal legacy I/O hook.
