Version
The MS HRTF plug-in is meant to be inserted on a bus, and converts the spatial audio data conveyed by that bus into a binaural (2-channel) signal for headphones.
It works on standard and ambisonic configurations, and transforms the output of the bus to two channels. In general, there is more spatial precision rendered in the HRTF binaural signal when there are more channels in the source bus.
However, the plug-in requires a sample frame size of 1,024. In the Wwise authoring tool, this can be set in the User Preferences' Samples Per Output Buffer list. In game, it is set using the AkInitSettings::uNumSamplesPerFrame()
initialization setting. Additionally, the plug-in will only load in the authoring tool when running on an OS, such as Windows 10, that supports the
Universal Windows Platform
.
