Description:
Sounds playing in a Room can be heard with their reverb through Portals such as doors and other openings. Portals are attached to game objects, positioned in the opening, that instantiate an Auxiliary Bus from where distance attenuation curves can be created to define how the sound should propagate through Portals.
Action Item:
To hear sounds coming through the Portal:
Make sure the Radio is playing and is located inside the Room. (You may use the "Fix - Portal" Radio preset).
Go outside the Room and leave the door open.
Make sure Wwise is connected to WAL and that Spatial Audio is enabled in the Profiler Settings. Look in the Game Object 3D Viewer (in the Game Object Profiler layout, opened with F12) to see the sound propagating from the Room through the Portal.
What to Expect:
You should hear the Radio with the reverb of the Room coming from the door. You can test positioning and distance attenuation. Also, notice how the direct signal gets attenuated, simulating occlusion diffraction when the Radio is not in the line of sight.
