Installing REAPER Plug-ins

Strata subscriptions include the Wwise VST plug-in suite and the BOOM ENRAGE plug-in, which are both required for all Strata REAPER projects. We also recommend a set of IEM plug-ins, which provide additional encoders and compressors.

All of these plug-ins are available to paid and free Strata subscribers through the Audiokinetic website.

Refer to the following sections to complete the plug-in installation:

Downloading the Plug-ins

To download the Wwise VST, ENRAGE, and IEM plug-ins:

  1. Log in to your user account on the Audiokinetic website.

  2. Click your name and then Licenses & Subscriptions.

    The Subscriptions page opens and lists your Strata subscription details and the downloadable plug-ins.

    [Note]Note

    The first time you access this page, you will be prompted to accept the End User License Agreement for both Strata and the Wwise VST plug-ins. You must accept the agreement to see the list of downloadable plug-ins.

  3. Download the following packages according to your operating system (Windows or macOS) and your subscription type (paid or free):

    • Wwise VST Plugin

    • Enrage Plugin

    • IEM Plugin

Installing the Wwise VST3 Plug-in Suite

The Wwise VST3 plug-in suite is contained in a .zip archive.

To install the Wwise VST3 plug-in suite:

  • Do one of the following, depending on your operating system:

    • Windows: Extract the contents of the downloaded .zip archive and move the .vst3 files to the following directory: C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3. If the VST3 folder doesn't exist on your computer, create it.

      Windows might ask for permission to copy files to this folder. Accept the request.

    • Mac: Double-click the downloaded .pkg file. An installer opens. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation. The installer automatically moves the .vst3 files to the correct location.

Installing the ENRAGE Plug-in

The BOOM ENRAGE plug-in provides additional options for sound processing and adjustments. For more information and video tutorials, refer to the ENRAGE website.

While the minimum required version of ENRAGE varies depending on the collection, we recommend you install the latest available version and update it each time a new version is released.

To verify the minimum required version for a collection, refer to the Strata Store and select the desired collection to open its product page.

Note, the ENRAGE plug-in differs depending on your subscription type:

  • The paid subscription includes the full version of ENRAGE and a license that is valid for the subscription period.

  • The free subscription includes a limited license and a version of ENRAGE in which you cannot save modifications to presets.

To install the ENRAGE plug-in:

  1. Extract the contents of the downloaded .zip archive and run the installer.

  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

After the installation is complete, the manual is available in the following directory:

  • Windows: C:\Program Files\BOOM Interactive\Enrage

  • Mac: /Applications/BOOM Interactive/Enrage

The user preset banks are available in the following directory:

  • Windows: C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\BOOM Interactive\Enrage\Presets

  • Mac: /Users/<user name>/Library/Application Support/BOOM Interactive/Enrage/Presets

Registering the ENRAGE License with iLok

After you subscribe to Strata, Audiokinetic sends you an email that contains an ENRAGE license, which you must activate in order to use ENRAGE to modify sounds and effects. If you can't locate the email, log in to your Audiokinetic account, and navigate to [User name] > Licenses & Subscriptions, to find the license under the License(s) section.

You must register the license with the iLok License Manager. For more information about iLok, refer to the iLok website.

To activate your ENRAGE license:

  1. Create an iLok account on the iLok website.

  2. Download the iLok License Manager.

  3. Enter the license in the iLok License Manager as explained on the iLok website and in this video.

Installing the IEM Plug-ins

The IEM plug-ins are contained in a .zip archive. For full documentation, refer to the IEM website.

To install the IEM plug-ins:

  • Extract the contents of the downloaded .zip archive to your system's VST3 plug-in folder. The default paths are as follows:

    • Windows: C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3

    • Mac: /Library/Audio/plug-ins/VST3

Rescanning for Plug-ins in REAPER

After you install the required plug-ins, restart REAPER. By default, REAPER scans for new and updated plug-ins every time it starts. However, if this setting is not at its default state, we recommend that you enable it.

To enable plug-in rescanning:

  1. In REAPER, click Options > Preferences. The REAPER Preferences dialog opens.

  2. Click VST. The VST plug-ins settings options appear.

  3. Select Scan new/updated plug-ins on startup.

  4. If necessary, click Edit path list and add the VST3 plug-in folder described in Installing the Wwise VST3 Plug-in Suite.
