Strata is a subscription service that provides access to a variety of individual sound collections developed by Audiokinetic in collaboration with BOOM Library. Strata is designed for use with the REAPER DAW, an industry standard for sound engineering.
Strata collections are different from standard sound libraries and provide several unique benefits:
Sound assets are provided in multi-track format. Sound engineers can modify and recombine tracks to create a wide variety of ambient sounds and sound effects much more easily than with single-track assets.
The default rendered sound assets are also available. You can listen to them in REAPER, and scan them into sound librarian database software such as SoundMiner, Basehead, Soundly, and so on.
All of the audio files have Universal Category System file names and contain extensive metadata.
Projects are configured to facilitate fast rendering of variations and layers of every sound.
You can transfer Strata REAPER project renders to Wwise with the ReaWwise REAPER extension. Strata collections and the REAPER extension work together to provide additional options for customization and efficiency.
This document consists of recommendations, best practices, and procedures for sound engineers who use REAPER.
