Track Layers Specific to the Spaceships Collection

The layers in the collection combine to create a composite track. They are nested, so it is possible to render the entire sound from this track. In all of the Spaceships projects, the composite track has “Composite” in the name.

The following image shows the tracks of a Spaceship subproject, which are arranged as layers that combine to produce the sound of the specific spaceship. The tracks are assigned colors on a per-layer basis, and these track names and colors are used similarly across all Spaceship subprojects.

Composite

The Composite track is at the top of the layer hierarchy and is the composite output of all the layers combined. All composite tracks are colored white in all collections.

Basic Layer 1 Basic

The Basic Layer is the main character of a spaceship sound. It helps to generate size, type, and function. Additionally, it can be used as a standard distance sound effect on its own. All Basic Layer tracks use yellow custom colors, alternating between light and dark shades.

Details Layer 2 Synth

The Details Layer 2 are sounds whose source was generated from various analog and digital synthesis techniques. All Details Layer 2 tracks use blue custom colors, alternating between light and dark shades.

Details Layer 3 Jet

The Details Layer 3 Jet contains sounds that make up the initial explosion generation thrust of the engines. All Details Layer Tracks use the orange custom colors, alternating between light and dark shades.

Weight Layer 4

The Weight Layer 4 tracks provide low-end size definition and impact. All Weight Layer Tracks use red custom colors, alternating between light and dark shades.

Custom Layer 5 Custom

The Custom Layer 5 Custom tracks add elements of whoosh and warp that imply movement. All Custom Layer 5 tracks use aqua custom colors, alternating between light and dark shades.

Cinematic Layer

The Cinematic Layer contains elements you can use for dramatic cinematic moments when the ship movement is the center of attention. All Cinematic Layer tracks use purple custom colors, alternating between light and dark shades. This layer is muted by default.
