Regions in the Footstep Collection

Footstep collection regions are visible in the Region/Marker Manager and in the Region Track above the timeline, as shown in the following images.

Composite Heel and Tip Regions

The composite region represents a mix and complete duration of all layers of a sound combined. It is the top level of the sound layer hierarchy.

In the case of walk, run, and sneak, the sounds are composed of two parts: heel and tip. The heel and tip parts are set up to render individually.

They can be used in reverse order for footsteps on stairs and in cases where animations are sped up or slowed as they transition between walk and run cycles, triggered to play correspondingly closer together or farther apart to better match the animation rendering.
