Ambience Fire and Water Collection Guide

This collection includes both fire and water sounds. It contains ambiences of forest and house fires, a generic, highly scalable fire, and the smoldering remains of the aftermath. All are preconfigured to render in multiple channel configurations. Using ambisonic recordings and higher order ambisonic mixing, the intensity and scale of the fires are easily adjusted. In addition, subprojects allow for specific coloration of the base ambiences. Also included are variations of bursts, crackles, gas, sizzles, whooshes, falling burning vegetation, and urban debris.

The other half of the collection features immersive ambiences of boiling and flowing water masses and waterfalls, as well as a flexible range of bubbles, drips, splashes, steam, and waves of varying size, intensity, and proximity.

The subprojects are mixed using higher order ambisonics with assets recorded in 1st order AmbiX and stereo formats. They are set up to render in a variety of common multichannel formats to suit your requirements, ranging from binaural to 7.0.4, as well as multiple orders of ambisonics in AmbiX, allowing 360 degrees of listening immersion.

The subprojects are configured to render as seamless loops and have control tracks for rapid customization. In addition to the subprojects set up for ambisonic mixing, there are also Object subprojects configured for mono and stereo rendering for use as point source objects to populate and dynamize your environments.

You can dynamically control the intensity, size, and density of the sounds of the ambisonic mixes using the preconfigured Modulation Parameter Control track envelopes.

To optimize download size, a stereo render is included in the collection download, which you can audition in the Ambience Fire and Water project.

The subprojects are arranged to allow auditioning according to your monitor systems and rendering in a comprehensive range of formats. By default, they are configured to monitor in stereo.

The Object subprojects are similar to conventional stereo projects and are configured to monitor and render in stereo or mono. The collection is designed so that the Area projects provide the base layer of an ambience with sounds from the Objects subprojects used simultaneously, as required, for specific augmentation.

The complete list of all the subprojects and their associated data and embedded metadata is available in the accompanying Ambience Fire and Water SoundBook.
