Track Layers Specific to the Close Combat Collection

The combat sounds were recorded with a variety of microphones in multiple positions to capture the details unique to each layer. In addition, each layer uses the ENRAGE plug-in to enhance certain aspects of the layer. The project is set up to render a composite blend of the layers.

Dry Layer

This layer is the main body of a kick, punch, slap, or headbutt. It is a tight, dry impact sound.

Details Wet Layer

This layer adds the intense detail of an impact on sweaty flesh.

Gore Layer

This layer adds the bone-breaking blood and guts of a sound.

Weight Layer

This layer adds the low-frequency thump or sandpaper scratch of a sound.

Swoosh Foley Layer

This layer adds the swinging of legs and arms that precedes an impact.

Cinematic Layer

Muted by default, this layer is designed for moments when a punch or kick is the center of attention.

Additional Foley Layer

Muted by default, this layer includes a range of whooshes of clothing made in nylon, cloth, and leather.

Additional Weight Layer

Muted by default, this layer adds an extra heavy show-stopper punch or kick.
