Understanding Triggers

Triggers are game syncs that you can use to activate contextual musical phrases called Stingers. These phrases are superimposed and mixed over the music that is currently playing, in response to things that occur in the game. The sync mechanism for Triggers can use the tempo of the established music to facilitate integration.

For example, a "Main Player Hits Bullseye" game Trigger could cause a drum fill to play over the current music while maintaining the current tempo. The drum fill is the Stinger.

See Working with Triggers for more information about Triggers from the sound designer's point of view.

See Integration Details - Triggers for an overview of Trigger integration.
