Wwise Unreal Integration Documentation
Release Notes 2023.1.5.8522.3070

Each version of this integration matches a specific build of Unreal Engine. Here is what has changed in the 2023.1.5.8522.3070 release of the integration (in addition to upgrading to the new Unreal build).

Note:
This integration does not support experimental Unreal Engine features.
Note:
  • This integration was compiled against Unreal Engine version 5.2, 5.3 and 5.4. It was tested against Unreal Engine 5.4.

New Features

  • WG-30008 Exposed the AddOutput and RemoveOutput functions to Blueprints, and exposed Audio Devices to the Wwise Browser.
  • WG-64225 Project Settings and documentation can now be accessed from the Wwise Browser.
  • WG-71519 Added Multiplayer/Multilistener gyms to verify behavior when using multiple listener instances.
  • WG-72465 Exposed Verbose Sink to the Unreal Integration.

Miscellaneous Changes

  • WG-72355 In the Wwise Browser, added information about the Root Output Path location when the path is empty.

Bug Fixes

  • WG-70517 Fixed: Acoustic Texture surface override on AkGeometry components is not correctly serialized in a packaged game.
  • WG-71569 Fixed: Possible crash when adding a Surface Reflector Set component directly to a brush actor.
  • WG-72351 Fixed: Build for Switch fails with included Switch SDKs.

Fixes for Community-Reported Bugs

  • WG-69157 Fixed: Visualization components of AkAcousticPortal, LateReverb, and SurfaceReflectorSet components possibly dirty Unreal levels. Text components on AkAcousticPortals possibly created during cooking.
  • WG-70942 Fixed: AkSettings loads unrelated DataTables in the Unreal project if the GeometrySurfacePropertiesTable or ReverbAssignmentTable are unset.
  • WG-72070 Fixed: Wwise_APL.xml uses an absolute path in [Game].target instead of a relative path.
  • WG-72225 Fixed: Cooking failed with CookSinglePackage commandline argument.
  • WG-72324 Fixed: Crash when running Unreal Engine with alternative memory allocators on some platforms.
