Copying State Groups between objects

If you want to use similar State Groups for many different objects, you can define State Groups for one object and then copy them, along with their associated States, properties, and State values, to other objects. You can copy and paste State Groups between different object types, including between the Master-Mixer, Actor-Mixer, and Interactive Music Hierarchies.

To copy State Groups:

  1. In the States tab of the Property Editor, select all of the State Groups you want to copy. (Click anywhere on the State Group or its associated States.)

  2. Right-click and select Copy in the shortcut menu (or press Ctrl+C).

  3. In the States tab of the target object, right-click and select Paste in the shortcut menu (or press Ctrl+V).

The State Group(s) along with their associated States, properties, and State values are copied to the target object.

    [Note]Note

If any of the State Groups were already assigned to the target object:

    • All State values for properties that were customized in both the source and target States are overwritten in the target.

    • Any properties that were customized in the source but not the target are copied to the target.

    • All State values for properties that were customized in the target but not the source are set to 0 or disabled.

You can now modify the copied content as desired (refer to Customizing State properties for objects).
