In the Control Surface Bindings view, you can define how Control Surface devices behave in Wwise. You can use Control Surface devices to control Wwise functions or project properties. Refer to Using a Control Surface for more information.
The Control Surface Bindings view shows the currently active Control Surface Session.

A list of Control Surface Sessions that currently exist within the project. The name of the selected Control Surface Session is displayed in the corresponding field. Selecting a Control Surface Session loads its Bindings in Wwise. | ||||
Opens a search field where standard alphanumeric entries filter out unmatching elements from the view. Learn more in Using Tables. Click the Close icon to the left of the search icon to close the search field and remove the filter.

Click the Configure Columns... shortcut (right-click) option from the column header band. The Configure Columns Dialog opens. Specify which columns to display and their order. | ||||
Activates or deactivates a Control Surface Session and opens or closes the Control Surface Toolbar. | ||||
Groups | ||||
Global |
The Global group defines the Bindings that are associated with specific objects. The targeted object is specified directly in the Binding. For more information, refer to: | |||
Current Selection |
The Current Selection group defines the Bindings that are associated with the current selection. The targeted object of Bindings in this group is the current selected object in Wwise. For more information, refer to Creating a Binding to Modify the Current Selection. | |||
View Groups |
The View Groups root defines the list of View Groups that can be loaded in views to dynamically associate objects of a view with Bindings. The target object, of a View Group Binding, is defined by the view in which the binding group is loaded. An index is specified for each object loaded in the view. You can create View Groups by clicking the Add Group button. For more information about View Groups, refer to Understanding Control Surface View Groups. | |||
Columns | ||||
Group/Binding |
Displays the name of the Binding or Group. You can rename Bindings by using the shortcut menu on the Binding. | |||
Learn |
Activates/deactivates learning mode for the Binding. When activated, the Binding remains in learning mode until either learning mode is deactivated, or a valid property/command and hardware control are associated. | |||
[>>] |
Opens a menu from which you can select a command or property for the Binding. | |||
Property/Command name |
Defines the behavior for the Binding. Click the [>>] selector to select the property or command. For more information, refer to Understanding Control Surface Bindings. | |||
Object/Index |
Defines the target object for the Binding's property or command. Click the […] button to browse for an object, for Bindings in the Global group. | |||
[...] (button) |
Browses for an object to set as the Binding's target. This button is only available for Bindings inside the Global group. | |||
Controller Assignment |
Defines which hardware control on the control surface device to use for the Binding. | |||
Status |
Identifies the reason why a Binding is not loaded. Examples of possible status:

Buttons | ||||
Add & Learn Binding |
Adds a new Binding in the selected group and activates learning mode. The Binding remains in learning mode until either learning mode is deactivated, or a valid property/command and hardware control are associated. | |||
Add Group |
Creates a new View Group in the View Groups folder. View Groups can be loaded in Views to dynamically associate objects of a view with Bindings. | |||
Remove |
Deletes the Bindings or View Groups selected in the Control Surface Bindings. The root groups (Global, Current Selection and View Groups) cannot be deleted. |
