SoundBank Generation Log

The SoundBank Generation Log displays information about issues or potential issues that were found during the generation process. Some of the types of issues you may encounter are as follows:

  • The custom post-generation executable can't be found. In this case, the custom post-generation step that you specified will not be performed.

  • A generated SoundBank references data or media in another SoundBank that is not being generated. In this case, the referenced SoundBank will automatically be generated.

  • If media files are duplicated in more than one SoundBanks. This is just a warning to help you find and remove the duplicated media files.

  • If a sound object references a media file that cannot be found in any of the generated SoundBanks. In this case, the sound object will not be playable in game.

  • If a SoundBank contains a reference to an Event or object that has been unloaded from the project. In this case, you can resolve the problem by loading the corresponding Work Units back into the project.

[Note] Note

For a complete description of each issue along with information on how to resolve these issues, refer to Troubleshooting SoundBank Issues Encountered During Generation.

If you no longer want specific warnings or messages to appear in the SoundBank Generation Log, you can add these warnings and messages to the Log Ignore List, which will prevent them from appearing in the log. For more information on adding warnings and messages to the Log Ignore List, refer to Adding Messages to the Log Ignore List. You can manage the Log Ignore List in the Project Settings dialog box. For more information, refer to Managing Messages that Appear in the Logs.
