The default look of Unity is highly customizable, and so you can arrange almost everything as you prefer. But before heading into the meaning of each window, you need to learn how to find your way back if you lose one. If there’s ever a point where you’ve lost track of a window, refer back to these steps and it will reset your layout to what you see now.

  1. From Unity’s Window menu, select Layouts > Default.

  2. Centered near the top, find three buttons used to activate play mode.

Of those, you will only be using the Play button throughout this certification. The Play button will enter a play mode, simulating how the game would run in a executable version of the game (a build). Be aware that when entering play mode all changes will be temporary until you exit play mode. As such, exit play mode when you’re done testing a feature, and perform your changes with the Play button unselected.
