The music consists of five different region themes and three enemy themes combined into one Music Segment. While in combat the full musical composition will play both a region theme and an enemy theme at once. The region themes are designed to convey an association with the environment. The enemy themes are designed to signal combat—by only being audible in combat—while also indicating the type of enemy engaged. In addition to the enemy layers, there are percussion instruments like drums, cymbals, and so on, which slowly add more intensity, depending on how many enemies you fight at once.
