Platform Modes

Some platforms are used on many different devices. Windows, for example, can be installed on many differently constructed computers. Android is also used on a variety of devices where the hardware is rarely the same. As such, you might want to create multiple modes for a single platform and let the players decide their performance settings themselves. For WAG, let’s add another platform, called Android_Low, so the users will have the option to reduce the performance with lower hardware specifications.

  1. In the Platform Manager, click Add… and set the Base Platform list to Android.

  2. Enable Override Default Name and name it Android_Low.

  3. Enable Copy settings from, and make sure Android is selected in the list below. Then click OK.

You’ve now created the second Android platform mode; but, let’s rename the original platform as well.

  4. Select the Android platform in the Platform Manager, then click Rename….

  5. Rename it to Android_High, and click OK.

  6. When you’ve made sure your Platform Manager looks exactly like the image below, click OK.

Be aware, that this next step is irreversible. When clicking OK, the Wwise project will be saved and reloaded.

  7. Click Yes.

  8. Click OK.

You’ve now created a new Android platform. This will allow your players to have even more specific settings on their Android device, and hereby allowing for a wider range of Android devices.
