Splitting and Deleting Clips

For the Arpeggio2 track, you’ll edit it so that the arpeggio part comes in and out every other measure. This can be done by first splitting the single clip into multiple smaller clips and then deleting the ones that you don’t want to hear. You can split clips by positioning the Play Cursor at the location where you want to divide a clip, and then use the Split Clip command.

  1. Move the Play Cursor to the beginning of bar 2, right-click the clip in the Arpeggio 2 Music Track, and choose Split on Play Cursor or press S.

The clip is split and you’ll now see clip handles showing the beginning and ends of the new clip.

  2. Repeat the process, splitting the clip at every bar through to the beginning of bar 8.

Now you can delete every other clip so that the arpeggio part comes in and out over the Music Segment. You can use the Ctrl key to select discontiguous clips.

  3. On the Arpeggio 2 Music Track, hold the Ctrl key and select the clips that start on the even bar numbers. Now that you have the proper clips selected, you can delete all of them in one step.

  4. Right-click any of the selected clips and press Del.

    [Note]

For Mac users, the Delete key does not behave the same way as a Del key on a Windows keyboard. To perform a delete function that emulates a Del key, hold the Function key (fn) and press Delete.

  5. Solo the Arpeggio2 Music Track and play the Combat Music Container.

You can hear how the arpeggios come in and out over the Music Segment.
