Generating an RTPC

Now that you have the meter output responding and generating the values you want, you now need to attach the meter to an RTPC. In this case, you’ll create a new RTPC specifically representing the side-chain value.

  1. In the Output Game Parameter group, click the [>>] selector button and choose New.

  2. Select the Music Work Unit and call it Stinger_Sidechain.

    It’s important that the RTPC’s value range matches that of the meter’s output range.

  3. Double-click the Stinger_Sidechain Game Parameter.

    You’ll also need to add a Default value, which in this case should assume that the Stinger is not active.

  4. Set the Min value to -48, the Max value to 6, and the Default value to -48.

You’ll get a message indicating that the values will be stretched.
