Modules
In the game Cube, the Wwizard's heart beats louder and clearer as his health declines. In this module, you'll make sure the sound of his heartbeat stops when he's defeated (gulp!). You'll do this using a type of Game Sync called a State. States are generally used to make sweeping changes to the game’s audio in reaction to a global change in the game. For example, a State can be used to communicate whether the player is conscious or unconscious, above or below water. The status of a State can be used to offset object property values, such as applying a low-pass filter to change the sonic texture of the game. You can also define how long it takes to transition from the old values to the new values. This is a feature unique to States.
By completing this module, you'll gain the following skills:
-
Creating State Groups to change sounds based on conditions in-game
-
Auditioning State Groups in the Transport Control
-
Triggering sounds when levels load
