Modules
There comes a point in game audio integration where the focus turns to the more subtle nuances of how the various sounds you’ve integrated into the game work together. It’s important that each sound contributes without becoming a distraction. This is where the art of mixing comes into play. Of course, with video games, there's no predetermined sequence of events, so the exact mix depends on the player's actions. But you'll take your best guess as to which sounds will coincide.
In the earlier modules, sounds are played by selecting the corresponding object and then clicking the play button in the Transport Control. In this module, you'll learn to use the Soundcaster view to arrange multiple instances of the Transport Control, each targeting a specific object so that you can play many different objects at the same time. You'll also learn how to adjust some of their properties without leaving the Soundcaster view.
By completing this module, you'll gain the following skills:
-
Creating Soundcaster sessions
-
Using the Project Explorer Search
-
Adding objects to Soundcaster sessions
-
Adjusting volume, pitch, and low-pass filter in the Soundcaster view
