Module 16: Configuring a Mixing Desk

If you completed Module 15: Using Soundcaster, you already have some familiarity with mixing in Wwise. In this module, you'll go a step further, learning how to use the Mixing Desk alongside the Soundcaster view.

The Mixing Desk allows you to fine-tune the audio mix of your game by grouping a variety of properties in one view. You can populate the Mixing Desk with the specific objects you want to work with and then define object routing, apply Effects and Attenuation curves, edit State properties, and modify the properties of individual objects and busses. To get acquainted, you’ll first create a custom Mixing Desk that focuses on the fire gem sounds used in the game Cube.

By completing this module, you'll gain the following skills:

  • Creating Mixing Desk sessions

  • Adding objects to Mixing Desk sessions

  • Ducking busses

  • Working with States in the Mixing Desk
