Definitions, Terms and Conditions
Wwise for Commercial Projects
For a specific game/title, you can purchase a run-time license for one or more supported platforms. Wwise currently supports Windows® 32-bit and 64-bit (XP/Vista/7), Xbox 360™, PlayStation®3, the Wii™, and Mac®.
The Wwise license price is per title and includes unlimited languages and no royalty fees. It also entitles the licensee to complete technical support and software updates for 24 months. Additional maintenance is also available for a 12-month period at a cost of $2500 US.
Source code to the Sound Engine is included as part of the license price.
Note: Special conditions may apply for MMO titles.
If you are interested in a long-term agreement, Audiokinetic also offers volume pricing and site license agreements.
Wwise for EDG (Electronically Distributed Games)
Developers of titles for Xbox LIVE® Arcade, PlayStation® Network, WiiWare™ and casual games can take advantage of the Wwise licensing program for EDG. For a specific game/title, you can purchase a run-time license for one or more supported platforms.
The EDG license price is per title and only includes product upgrades. Additional maintenance is also available that will give you direct access to our technical support team as well as access to the private sections of the Wwise Knowledge Base at a cost of $500 US for a 12 month period.
Note: The Sound Engine source code is not included as part of the EDG license.
Wwise for Non-commercial Projects
There is no license fee to use Wwise for non-commercial projects.
Whether you’re prototyping, developing freeware, working on academic projects, or preparing a student assignment, you can use Wwise for free.
